Absorbent cotton balls are the simplest item in the catalogue and the one most often quoted badly. Rich Medical winds them from bleached cotton sliver in nine weights from 0.3 g to 10 g, in non-sterile bulk, colour and EO-sterile single-use formats, so a kit packer, a hospital tender and a retail brand can all be supplied from the same line.
Why the ball weight decides the price
Cotton is bought, stored and shipped by weight, so the gram figure on each ball is also the unit that governs cost. A 0.3 g ball is a small swab for injection sites and paediatric work; 2 g to 5 g balls are the general ward size for wound cleaning and skin prep; 10 g balls are used where a single ball has to hold enough fluid to clean a larger area without being replaced. Quoting the weight, not just the bag size, is what makes two suppliers comparable.
Sterile, non-sterile and colour formats
The sterile range covers 0.3 g, 0.5 g, 0.7 g, 1.0 g and 5.0 g balls, packed 5, 10 or 15 to a peel pack or bag and then into cartons of 1,000 packs or 25 bags depending on the weight. Non-sterile balls run from 0.3 g to 10 g in 50 g to 500 g bags. Colour cotton balls in 0.5 g and 1.0 g sizes are used to separate cleaning stages on a dressing trolley, where a tinted ball is not mistaken for a clean one.
Packing that fits a container, not just a pallet
Light balls ship inefficiently: a 0.3 g ball in 50 g bags, 12 bags to a box and 8 boxes to a carton, fills a 560×400×550 mm carton with very little weight. Heavier balls are packed 200 to 250 per bag and 4 or 5 bags to a carton at 530×380×420 mm. We quote carton dimensions and net weight with every offer so you can calculate a mixed container instead of discovering the cube after booking.
Where the volume goes
Most of this line leaves Taizhou as a component rather than a finished retail item: into first aid kits, dressing packs, dialysis and dialysis-accessory packs, dental bundles and private-label cosmetic bags. If you pack kits, we can supply balls to your count per pack and mark the cartons by kit code, which removes a manual counting step at your line. Private label printing on the inner bag is available from modest quantities.
Documentation and sampling
Each shipment carries a certificate of analysis covering absorbency, whiteness and moisture, and the ISO 13485, CE and FDA file is available before you place the order. Samples of two or three weights are normally sent together so a buyer can compare the density by hand; freight is at cost and credited against the first order.
