Cotton pads are bought by the piece count on the front of the bag and judged by the weight of the pad in the hand. Rich Medical supplies round pads at Φ58 mm in 50, 80 and 100 piece bags, and square pads from 5×5 cm to 15×15 cm in bulk 450 g bags or 1,000 piece bags, for pharmacy, clinic and private-label cosmetic lines.
Round pads: the pharmacy standard
The Φ58 mm round pad is the size most pharmacies and supermarkets stock, because it fits a standard 100 ml toner bottle mouth and a makeup compact. It is supplied in 50, 80 and 100 piece bags, 48 bags to a carton. The 100-piece bag is the volume seller in Europe; 50-piece bags are common where shelf price matters more than unit cost. Carton dimensions grow with piece count — 350×250×240 mm at 50 pieces, 470×250×350 mm at 100.
Square pads and the bulk route
Square pads are cut from the same bleached cotton in 5×5, 7.5×7.5, 8×10, 10×10 and 15×15 cm, supplied as 450 g bags at 24 bags per carton or as 1,000 piece bags at 10 bags per carton. Bulk square pads are usually bought by clinics, nail bars and spa chains that decant into their own dispensers, and by converters who laminate or emboss the pad before retail packing.
Laminated, embossed and plain edges
A plain-edge pad sheds fibre at the rim; a heat-sealed or embossed edge holds the cotton in and stops the pad from delaminating when it is soaked. For makeup removal and nail work the sealed edge is worth the small extra cost. For medical skin cleaning the plain pad is preferred because the sealed rim can feel stiff on broken skin. We quote both and send samples of each edge.
Private label for pharmacy and beauty
Most of this line is private label: printed bag, your barcode, your language, and a shelf-ready carton if you supply to a chain. Artwork is proofed as a PDF before printing, and we hold plates for repeats. Because the pads themselves are unbranded, the same production run can carry two brands with a bag change, which is useful when a customer tests a new line before committing to volume.
What to specify when you ask for a price
Give the diameter or dimensions, the piece count per bag, the edge type, the bag material (PE or paper), the print and the carton mark. With those five facts we can quote against your shelf price rather than quoting a generic pad, and the sample you approve is the sample we hold against production.
