A cotton roll is the same bleached cotton as a ball, wound into a continuous roll so the user tears off what the procedure needs. Rich Medical supplies ten weights from 25 g to 4,000 g — a 25 g roll for a first aid kit, a 500 g roll for a clinic, a 4 kg roll for a hospital store room.
Ten weights, three different buyers
The 25 g, 50 g and 100 g rolls are retail and kit formats: a 16 oz (454 g) or 1 lb roll is what most first aid kits specify, while 25 g and 50 g rolls go into travel and vehicle kits. The 200 g to 500 g rolls are clinic stock for dressing trolleys. The 1,000 g and 4,000 g rolls are hospital bulk, unwound onto a clean surface and cut to length, which is cheaper per gram but needs a clean handling area.
Carton maths that matters at order stage
Light rolls ship 200 to a carton; 100 g ships 100; 200 g and 250 g ship 40; 400 g to 500 g ship 25; 1,000 g ships 12 and the 4,000 g roll ships 6 to a carton at 910×310×450 mm. Because roll diameter grows with weight, a mixed pallet of light and heavy rolls stacks unevenly — tell us the mix and we will send a loading plan with the quotation.
How the roll is wound and wrapped
Rolls are wound under tension so the layers do not telescope in transit, then wrapped in a sealed inner bag; the heavier rolls are bagged individually. If the roll is destined for a sterile pack, it is supplied non-sterile for sterilisation inside your own pack, or EO-sterilised and double-bagged where the pack is assembled here.
Tearing, lint and the clinical trade-off
A tightly wound roll tears cleanly but releases less fibre; a lofted roll is softer on skin but sheds more. For ophthalmic and wound-cleaning use we recommend the tighter wind, and for skin preparation and padding the softer one. Tell us the end use and we will send the matching sample rather than the cheapest gram price.
Private label and export paperwork
Rolls are a common private-label item: printed inner wrap, printed carton, your barcode and your language. The certificate of analysis, ISO 13485 certificate and CE/FDA file travel with the documents, and we handle the packing list, invoice and certificate of origin for the forwarder.
